TRIBIT XSOUND GO

In terms of quality, the Tribit XSound Go is a significant improvement on the standard portable Bluetooth speaker. The XSound Go may not be the loudest or largest option on the list, but you can still get it for a reasonable price due to the availability of the more advanced "Max Sound Go." Despite its age, the XSound Go still deserves attention. Despite its small size, the metal chassis gives it a solid feel. The buttons in the top row are simple and well-labeled. The volume controls can skip the music, but there is no significant play (pause) button like other Bluetooth speakers. Although the XSound Go's wrist strap is braided and comfortable, our testing showed that it should not be too rough.

The Go is small in size but has good sound quality. However, you will need to crank it up quite a bit. It is strong enough to resist vibration and distortion but can only speak one direction, so it is better for stationary activities than riding along on trails. It is IPX7 water-resistant, so it can withstand all the elements. There are two options: a darker blue or a standard black. For the price it costs, the Tribit XSoundGo is unbeatable. Yet, it does. The battery life lasts longer than the Beats Pill and is comparable to the Anker Soundcore. This makes it difficult to believe that other companies could afford such high prices. Although it has a slight distortion at maximum volume, the Tribit XSoundGo Bluetooth speaker is still one the best.

Features

Tribit XSoundGo is compact and robust, which you cannot expect from a Bluetooth speaker. These speakers often look cheap and plastic. This one is different. It is fully waterproof and comes with an IPX7 rating. It can be submerged in water up to 1m (3ft) for 30 minutes, but it won't float.

Bluetooth 4.2 is available on XSound Go with a range of 66 feet. When you turn on the speaker, it will automatically pair with the last paired device. It is normal not to have all the fancy features such as NFC quick pairing, pairing speakers together for stereo sound or louder sound, or multipoint pairing. You will have to spend a bit more if you need all of these features. If you need to connect an audio source other than Bluetooth, the AUX input can be used on the back. In AUX mode, the speaker is not waterproof.

This amazing speaker has many great features, including the battery, design, build quality, and IPX7 rating. This speaker has a 4,400mAh capacity, which is quite a bit considering its small size. At 50% volume, the advertised playtime is 24 hours. Although the actual playtime is only a few hours, it's still quite impressive.

Tribit XSoundGo also comes with a mic that can be used to answer/make calls. The speaker can be used to activate Siri or Google Assistant. It's also compatible with Alexa devices.

Performance

The battery life of the Tribit Bluetooth speaker is approximately 24 hours. Anker Soundcore, another big player in portable Bluetooth speakers, clocks in at 24 hours. Tribit deserves credit for matching this. Don't forget the old saying that you get what you pay for. The sound quality of the Tribit is excellent. It can fill a medium-sized space and produces little distortion at maximum volume. You can also check out our Tribit StormBox micro-Bluetooth speaker review for a speaker with full-sounding trebles and mids. The JBL Charge 4 is a perfect choice if you want to recognize your brand and have a blast with sound quality.

Design

Although it is generic and pill-shaped, the Tribit XSound Go will not receive any design awards. However, you should not let this detract from its beauty. The XSound Go can be thrown down a flight without fear. It is rugged and durable. The buttons are easy to use.

Additionally, the Tribit XSound also includes a headphone jack. It's refreshing to see Bluetooth speakers include this feature. Many Bluetooth speakers have opted to skip it, so it's nice to hear a company add it. The Bose SoundLink Color II is a modern alternative to a headphone socket.

Value

You will pay about $40 for the Tribit XSound Go. It's IPX7-rated, so you don't have to worry about getting dropped in your friend's swimming pool. The case comes with the speaker. However, it can be purchased separately for $10.00. The Oontz Angle 3 is a smaller, more affordable Bluetooth speaker.

Sound Quality

The mids and highs are balanced, but the bass response can be weak. Given the size of XSound Go, this isn't a surprising sound signature. Although the bass is there, it lacks real impact. It is not too much loud as it claims to be. XSound Go is still a powerful speaker compared to smaller, cheaper speakers. You should consider buying something bigger and more powerful if you like bass-heavy sounds.

The vocals are clear and sweet, and the mids are pleasant. The highs are detailed and excellent.

XSound Go is surprisingly loud, considering its small size. At 80% volume, distortion can be heard, which is quite distracting. Stereo separation is almost non-existent, which is not surprising. When complex music is played with many instruments, the sound becomes distorted.

Product Cons

  • Not very loud
  • Some distortion at max volume
  • Generic design
  • Carrying case sold separately

Tribit XSound Go Wrap Up

The Tribit XSoundGo is a great choice for your portable Bluetooth speaker. It is missing name-brand recognition, which is a shame because it's valuable. It makes up for its battery life, sound quality, durability, and water resistance. You get all the features you need in a portable speaker.
