ULTIMATE EARS WONDER BOOM 2

If you are searching for the finest Bluetooth sound and price, the Ultimate Ears Wonder Boom 2 is a good choice. You will often find a discount on it, and it has an impressive bass for a speaker of its size. Smaller speakers, such as the Tribit Storm Box Micro, can also be found. However, they won't sound quite as great. Although the UE Boom 3 produces better sound if you're willing to spend more, it is also more expensive. The Wonder boom is a portable Bluetooth speaker that offers an outstanding balance between price, size, and sound quality.

The UE Wonderboom 2 is a significant upgrade to the original Wonderboom. It has an outdoor boost feature that fine-tunes the sound for outdoor listening. This is combined with 3-hour battery life, making it an attractive offer. This transparent speaker is an excellent choice if you want a speaker that can be used indoors. This portable speaker is priced at around $100 and is definitely worth the investment if you are looking for a Bluetooth speaker that is durable, long-lasting, and has excellent battery life. Features

The battery life of the new Wonderboom has increased to 13 hours from the original 10 hours. A complete charge almost takes less than 3 hours. The new model is waterproof and designed to float like the original, and it has an IP67 rating that makes it sand-, dust-, and waterproof. It's handy if the Wonderboom 2 gets half-buried at your beach party or picnic.

A circular button has been added to the speaker's top to allow for a 'double-up' sound. This allows you to pair two Wonderboom 2, and the design of the speaker's top has been changed. This feature was already available in the original version. However, it has been updated to pair two speakers in stereo mode by pressing the central button. Old and new Wonderboom models can be paired in mono (the older model doesn't support stereo).

The guitar's chord loop at the top is now flattened and elastic, with a rubber slider in its middle. This is what we prefer, as well as many other tweaks. The Wonderboom 2 comes in red, black, blue, and grey. UE calls it 'Just Peach.' However, tie-dyes are no longer available.

The voice assistant and microphone are still missing. There is also no micro-USB port for charging. The Wonderboom 2 can only be operated via an app, just like the first model. Ultimate Ears decided not to over-egg their portable speaker pudding. However, this recipe is a winner, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Sound

The Wonderboom 2 produces a sound that is as coherent and detailed as you can hope for, especially considering the price. It also has a better presentation. The twang of double bass has subtle musical nuances that aren't apparent in the original.

We then switch to Aerosmith's Water Song. The glass harmonica, bullroarer, and wind gong instrumental at the end of the track are spine-tingling. Janie's gun, a striking of simultaneous drums, is crisp and brimming full of attack. Remarkably, Stephen Tyler can sing so well with such a small speaker.

The outdoor mode makes the Wonderboom 2 an attractive option for picnics and beaches. This speaker can focus on the sound frequencies you are most comfortable hearing outside, which is more than a novelty.

Performance

The Wonderboom 2 produces a powerful sound despite its small size and boasts a remarkable 30m wireless range to play music. The Ultimate ears hyper boom review is an excellent place to start if you want to know more about the loudest and most prominent speakers. The IP67 rating of the wonder boom 2 is better than that of the IPX7. It means the speaker can be submerged in water up to one meter for approximately 30 minutes, just like the JBL charge 4. The portable Bluetooth speaker is ideal for beach parties or being used in the rain. You might find it tempting to press the outdoor boost button, which looks like a pine tree at the bottom of the speaker. This will make the speaker sound louder outdoors. Outdoor mode can increase the speaker's loudness by as much as 87dBC. However, it will affect its sound quality. The Tego Audio NOVA mini-portable speakers review may be a better choice if you are looking for a louder speaker.

Design

It must be noted that the designs of the original Wonderboom portable Bluetooth speakers and the second version are very similar. The two-tone fabric features of the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom are the best example. There are five color options available. They all look great, but everything else is the same. It has a rubber grip on the top and bottom as well as a hanging loop that can be used to hang it wherever you like. Although it may not be as elegant as the Bose SoundLink Revolve's, you don't need to be as sophisticated if you plan on using it outside a lot.

Value

The UE Wonderboom 2 features a stereo pairing feature called "Double Up." This allows you to pair your Wonderboom 2 speakers with even more sound. You can get stereo sound from two Wonderboom speakers if they are connected. Each speaker will take either the left or right channel. You shouldn't be afraid to bring the Wonderboom speaker outdoors (a second example is in the UE Roll Bluetooth speaker review). It can float like the UE Boom 3 and can play music outdoors. The speaker's high-quality bass may be praised, but it can distort if the volume goes above 70%.

Wrap Up

The original Wonderboom is still available. If you have it, you will get the outdoor equalizer, longer battery life, and more fabric options. Is it worth the investment? If you take your music outdoors a lot, we think so. Outdoor use is possible with the Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 2. The portable speaker is built to last with an IP67 rating that protects against water and dust. The battery can last for 13 hours and has an outdoor EQ mode that cuts bass and amplifies vocals to make them sound more precise. The speaker is not very loud overall.
