VIZIO 75-INCH M6 SERIES PREMIUM 4K SMART TV
The premium 75-inch super HD Vizio M-Series televisions are an excellent value for the average consumer. These models feature super HD 4K resolution with excellent color and contrast. The crispness and vivid color of this television impressed us. The quality of our nature videos in 4K of clarity caught us by surprise. In addition, it is compatible with HLG, HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision HDR. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are among the features of the M-Series, which allow it to connect wireless streaming media devices and stream content. Google TV and other well-known smart-TV services are also available. Quantum Color and the full-array lighting technology boost the M-Series image quality. The IQ Active Processor of this TV provides a strong performance. The image quality is improved due to this TV's active pixel tuning and adjustable refresh rates. In addition, it comes with Apple Airplay and Chrome cast. For this TV, you can choose from three choices for connectivity via HDMI 2.1 and eARC.
Vizio M-Series MQ6 : Prices and availability
As of this writing, the Vizio M-Series MQ6 is only available in two sizes: the 55-inch model we reviewed and the 65-inch variant. However, in the coming weeks, Vizio will release other sizes, from as small as 43 inches to a huge 75-inch screen. The 70-inch model is scheduled for later in the summer. However, it won't arrive in retailers until the end of August.
Vizio M-Series consists of two distinct model lines: the MQ6 that we will be highlighting during this article and a higher-priced MQ7 model. Both are smart TVs with 4K resolution with quantum dots displays. They also have Vizio TV features, including the brand-new voice search feature.
While the overall appearance is identical, the two models differ in a few key attributes. For instance, the more expensive MQ7 has dimmable zones for backlighting and advanced motion processing features that aren't available on the MQ6 and an additional HDMI port.
Because of these differences, our suggestions will only apply to the MQ6 models of Vizio's M-Series, not the MQ7 models. We'll look at the MQ7 in a separate article to give an in-depth look at the smart TV's capabilities and features.
Vizio M-Series MQ6: Design
The Vizio M-Series M55Q6J01 is a new model for 2022, and Vizio has modernized the model in various ways with a few subtle changes to the physical appearance. The entire TV sports a modern (if not sleek) appearance, sharp edges everywhere, and some wacky curvilinear design elements on the rear of the chassis. All are constructed of standard black plastic.
The stand comprises a pair of feet that can be attached to either side of the television. It is quite simple and doesn't require any complicated installation or software configuration. The model that is 55 inches in size measures 48.3 by 28.1 and 3.2 inches, weighing 29.4 pounds before connecting to the stand. It's feasible to install the MQ6 using just one person. However, we'd suggest getting help on it.
If you do not want to use the feet included use tabletops. The MQ6 can also be mounted on a wall, with 300x200 millimetre mounting.
Vizio M-Series MQ6 review: Performance
Its Vizio MQ6 boasts a 4K screen with quantum dots that provide better colors and 60Hz refresh rates, keeping with what we believe to be the best quality affordable TVs.
The set comes with a full-range backlight but not the local dimming control found on rivals like the TCL 5 Series Roku TV (S535). While manufacturers use this standard method to cut costs on TVs priced in this category, it implies that the contrast will not be as sharp, and High Dynamic Range (HDR) capabilities are greatly diminished.
This is ironic, as it can mean that blacker images could appear somewhat grey due to the backlight. However, it is also good that you will see less of the distinct halos surrounding bright on-screen objects that many high-end models struggle to eliminate. However, the HDR limitations are particularly frustrating for this model, the Vizio M-Series, since it's one of the few TVs available that compatibility with both Dolby Vision and HDR10+ formats.
However, watching films and video clips with the MQ6 allowed us to quickly discover what the TV could do well and the areas it can improve. Despite its undifferentiated backlight, the Vizio looked great in the opening sequences from Blade Runner 2049, with sharp detail even in dark scenes. When Ryan Gosling and Dave Bautista confronted each other in the cramped spaces of an unlit farmhouse, The shadows weren't as dark as we've seen on other sets. Likewise, the bright light highlights that lit those windows, or even the glowing components on K's eye-scanner, weren't as vibrant as we've seen in the other sets.
The Vizio was far superior in performance regarding color, but thankfully. While watching the 4K versions of nature videos, the color and clarity looked excellent. A vibrant green tree frog seemed stunningly green, while a tree snake with pink hues looked astonishingly real. No matter the small details on the rear of a spider or the scales of snakes, the resolution of 4K provided all the details you'd think of. The colors did appear slightly oversaturated when showing greens and yellows, but not in a way that made it look glare.
A scene from the sunset gave the television a great check of how it's displaying color, and it performed flawlessly. Bright hues and vibrant pastels appeared as beautiful as a beautiful tropical sunset should appear, and the delicate colors that one would expect to see a little band in came through quickly, without the stark posterization frequently seen on lower-end models.
The TV's all-inclusive direct backlighting was uniform, without shadows around corners of the screen we were expecting to see or any variation in the display of large areas of color, like blue sky.
The MQ6 also offers good viewing angles, although there's a noticeable change in the screen's color when you're at 45 degrees. It's not a massive shift in color but rather an occasional shift in tone when viewed from a steep angle.

Final Verdict
Cheap TVs always walk between offering all the capabilities consumers require and removing unnecessary features to cut costs. Vizio's TVs have become better in this delicate balance over the years. Still, their Vizio M-Series MQ6 is an excellent example of how tense the balance is, with fantastic additions such as voice control and more extensive HDR Format support on the one hand but a sluggish quality of brightness and contrast on the opposing side. In the end, it's a good choice. Vizio M-Series MQ6 offers an adequate number of capabilities for consumers on a tight budget. Still, it's not without limitations when seeking higher-end gaming capabilities or an extensive range of advanced capabilities.
