Panera Frontega Chicken

This sandwich contains smoked, pulled chicken, mozzarella, tomatoes, red onions, finely chopped basil, and chipotle mayo on focaccia. Although I would have had a little bit more of each component, the buttery, salty focaccia served as a beautiful foundation for the tender chicken, gooey cheese, and fragrant basil. Even though it was one of my favorites, the Frontega chicken panini came in second place this time.

Ingredients in the Frontega Chicken Panini

The Frontega Chicken Panini's main characteristic is its delicious and fresh ingredients. The panini consists of...

  • pulled chicken or sliced chicken
  • chipotle mayo
  • Roma tomato
  • mozzarella
  • red onion
  • basil

All of the ingredients were pressed together in a hot panini press to make a melty, meaty, yet airy chicken panini sandwich. As a result, one of the best parts of the Panera Frontega Chicken Panini is the creamy chipotle mayo.

All you need is a food processor, chipotle in adobo sauce, and mayo (which I'm actually mixing with Greek yogurt). When everything comes together flawlessly, you now have fantastic homemade chipotle mayo sauce for all of your purposes. This would be a great sauce to serve with my loaded burger bowl, chicken sliders, or just as a dipping sauce for vegetables.

Which Bread Type Is Best For A Panini?

Ciabatta is used to make this specific panini. It produces the perfect sandwich bread because that is what is in the iconic Frontega Chicken Panini from Panera! Ciabatta bread won't harm the roof of your mouth because it maintains a soft bite while crisping up beautifully.

Another delicious option for panini bread is sourdough. At the grocery store, you may get pre-sliced loaves that are perfect for paninis like this leftover turkey sandwich. The way sourdough toasts in a panini press are my absolute favorite.

Simply select an artisan loaf from the deli counter at your neighborhood grocery store if neither of them is offered. There are many alternatives to plain white bread.

How do they press a panini sandwich? It might sound ridiculous. I have, however, prepared enough paninis and cleaned enough panini machines to determine the most efficient way to do it.

  • You must first lubricate the press in order to significantly lower the possibility that anything coming out of this sandwich will remain.
  • It is best to start by using cooking spray. The panini's exterior will also be guaranteed to be crisp with this method.
  • Put your sandwich in the press after properly assembling it. As you drop the top press onto the sandwich, gradually apply more force.
  • You should stop pressing and just wait if you hear a sizzling. We'll have to wait three to five minutes for the cheese to melt and the sandwich to rewarm.
  • Remove the sandwich once it's warmed up, then quickly wipe your press down. When the time comes to wash it, you will be quite angry with yourself if you let items become trapped on there.

Serving and Keeping Frontega Chicken Paninis from Panera

Okay, since this sandwich is hot, we should definitely eat it right away for the greatest benefits! If you must preserve it or have leftovers, put it in an airtight container and place them in the refrigerator. If left out for too long, the bread may become mushy, but you can just reheat it in a toaster oven.

Other Best Panera Sandwiches To Try

Steak and white cheddar panini (toasted)

Although I have nothing negative to say about this one, I do regret not ordering a whole rather than a half. The toasted sandwich has steak, horseradish sauce, pickled red onions, Vermont white cheddar, and steak.

The steak was juicy, flavorful, and hot. In addition, the bread was crunchy and the cheese was completely melted. The ratio of the steak to the other ingredients was outstanding, and the pickled onions and horseradish were the right complement to the kind of harsh cheese.

Classic grilled cheese

This sandwich was really simple, consisting of white bread with American cheese slices. One slice of my bread was golden and the other was still light, so I figured it was only partially toasted. That strange fact did not, however, lessen my enjoyment of this gooey classic. Sometimes it's preferable to keep things simple and stick to the essentials.

Tuscan grilled chicken sandwich (toasted)

The chicken, mozzarella, parmesan, arugula, tomato confit, and pesto mayo on this tasty sandwich were well-toasted. The intriguingly smoky flavor of the tomatoes blended nicely with the juicy chicken, cheese, and fresh greens.

If you want a lighter dinner that yet tastes great, a half (or whole) order of the Tuscan grilled chicken sandwich would be the ideal choice.

Tuna salad sandwich

Despite the unfavorable reputation that tuna salad frequently bears, it is nevertheless one of the more economical dishes and is still worth trying.

The typical suspects—greens, tomatoes, and red onions—were back and helped balance the fishy salad. This juicy and tasty sandwich stayed together reasonably well while I ate it thanks to the hard focaccia.
